The Speedmaster First OMEGA in Space, Ref. 310.32.40.50.06.002, reinterprets the CK 2998 worn by astronaut Walter Schirra during Mercury-Atlas 8 in 1962. Its 39.7 mm stainless steel case is matched with a brown leather strap, echoing the vintage styling of the original. A black aluminium bezel with the legendary “Dot Over Ninety” tachymeter surrounds the blue-grey CVD-coated dial, finished with Alpha hands, baton central seconds, and luminous details in aged Super-LumiNova.
Powering this tribute to early spaceflight is the manual-wind OMEGA Calibre 3861, a Master Chronometer movement delivering METAS-certified precision and a 50 Hours power reserve. The solid caseback bears the Seahorse medallion with special engravings commemorating the first OMEGA worn in space.
