The Speedmaster First OMEGA in Space, Ref. 310.30.40.50.06.001, pays tribute to astronaut Walter Schirra’s CK 2998 worn during the Mercury-Atlas 8 mission in 1962. This 39.7 mm stainless steel model recalls that second-generation Speedmaster with a polished and brushed case, flat-links bracelet, and a tachymeter bezel in black aluminium featuring the emblematic "Dot Over Ninety."
Its grey-blue CVD-coated dial evokes the vintage tones of the era, with Alpha hands, baton central seconds, and luminous accents in aged Super-LumiNova. Inside, the manual-wind OMEGA Calibre 3861 brings Master Chronometer precision, METAS certification, and a 50 Hours power reserve. The caseback bears the Seahorse medallion with special engravings commemorating the first OMEGA worn in space.
