The OMEGA Speedmaster First OMEGA in Space Ref 310.32.40.50.06.001 is a modern interpretation of the watch worn by astronaut Wally Schirra during the Mercury-Atlas 8 mission in 1962. It features a 39.7 millimeter stainless steel case with polished bevels, a domed sapphire crystal, and a blue-grey dial accented by white printing and applied hour markers. The chronograph layout includes small seconds, 30-minute, and 12-hour counters, surrounded by a black tachymeter bezel. Inside is the manual-wind OMEGA Calibre 3861, a METAS-certified Master Chronometer movement with Co-Axial escapement, silicon balance spring, and 50-hour power reserve. The watch is paired with a black grained calf leather strap and stainless steel pin buckle. Measuring 13.4 millimeters thick and water resistant to 50 meters, it honors a foundational piece of OMEGA’s spaceflight legacy with modern precision.
