Born in Edinburgh in 1850, Robert Louis Stevenson wrote essays, travel tales and classics like 'Treasure Island' and 'Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde'. Montblanc’s Writers Edition pays tribute to his adventurous spirit. The pen’s silhouette and the rings on the cone evoke a telescopic spyglass. Engraved crosses on the black resin barrel include a larger 'X' marking the treasure spot. Vertical lines on the cap recall the wooden planks of the schooner Hispaniola and a sailor’s chest. Behind the clip, the lines form a compass rose, while the clip itself resembles a belaying pin used to secure rigging. The cap top features a Montblanc emblem with a skull and crossbones at its centre. Stevenson’s signature and the date of his first work, 'The Pentland Rising' (1866), are engraved on the cap ring, and his birth and death years, 1850 1894, appear on the cap.
